About the programme
The African Women Support Network (AWSN) Monthly Community Empowerment, Integration and Networking Programme is designed to empower African women and women from ethnic minority communities by creating opportunities for social connection, learning, personal development and community participation.
The programme provides a welcoming and inclusive space where women can build friendships, share experiences, celebrate cultural diversity, develop new skills and access information, advice and support. Through interactive workshops, networking activities, capacity-building sessions and wellbeing activities, we aim to reduce social isolation, strengthen community relationships and support women's integration into local communities.
Our activities promote confidence, mental health and wellbeing, skills development, cultural understanding and access to opportunities for volunteering, training and employment. The programme also encourages women to recognise their strengths, share their knowledge and contribute positively to their communities.
Through the generous funding of the National Lottery Ethnic Minority Development Fund, AWSN is working to create a more connected, inclusive and supportive community where women feel valued, empowered and equipped to thrive.
Our vision: To build stronger connections, empower women and foster a sense of belonging through community engagement, integration and mutual support.
